ESTERASUL - RADRIANS

The Emberwood is a dense, dark-fir forest so thick in places that light barely reaches the ground even at midday. It's the ancestral home of the Radrian species according to Esterasul's founding myth, and remains the territory of the Forest clans, whose szałasy shelters are built low and half-buried into natural hollows between the roots.

The forest floor hosts the Duskhare, kept in loose semi-domestication by Forest clans, as well as the solitary Emberlynx, the region's main natural predator.

The Hollow Peaks are a cold, wind-scoured mountain range riddled with caves — the source of the region's name — fiercely contested between Mountain clans and the territorial Stonehide Boar. Shelter here is scarce enough that Mountain clans hold some of the smallest, most tightly defended territories of any Radrian population.

Snow covers the higher trails for most of the year, and the compact, blunt-crowned Mountain Radrian is built specifically to move through it without injury.

The Marrowfen is a slow, reed-choked wetland crossed by raised walkways that Marsh clans rebuild each year as the ground shifts beneath them. Hanging moss gardens grown along these walkways feed the region's enormous Glimmermoth swarms, which light the marsh at dusk and double as an informal seasonal calendar for the clans here.

The gentle, revered Mossback Turtle-Stag also calls the Marrowfen home, considered good luck whenever one is sighted near a calving ground.

The Sunreach region stretches from a wind-scoured coastline to a dry interior of open dunes, split by a long line of salt cliffs. Coastal clans work the shoreline, migrating with the tidecrab harvest, while Sunreach clans range through the hotter interior, foraging root vegetables and the occasional fast-moving Sandrunner Lizard.

The two populations meet and mix most often along the salt cliffs themselves, which is why crowns blending traits of both subspecies are most commonly recorded in exactly that border stretch.

The Glassfrost is a vast, open ice plain offering almost no natural cover, which is why Tundra clans migrate in unusually large, tightly coordinated groups — the surest defence against the Frostfang Wolf packs that hunt here. A Tundra Radrian's resonant call, audible for miles across the flat ice, was built for exactly this landscape.

Winters on the Glassfrost are the harshest in Esterasul, and the region's Radrians are correspondingly the largest and heaviest-coated of all six subspecies.
